The things people most often ask before booking a move with us — from county coverage and access to customs on a European move. If yours isn’t here, just ask.
Good to know
Everything you might ask
Which Suffolk towns do you cover?
The whole county. Our hubs are Ipswich (IP1–IP5), Bury St Edmunds (IP32–IP33), Lowestoft (NR32–NR33) and Felixstowe (IP11), and we also cover Sudbury, Newmarket, Haverhill, Woodbridge, Stowmarket, Beccles and the coastal towns like Southwold and Aldeburgh, plus the villages and rural lanes between them.
Are you a Suffolk firm or a national one?
We’re a Suffolk firm — county-based, working our own patch. That means we know the market-town access, the rural lanes, the seafront parking and the Ipswich one-way system before we turn up, rather than sending a crew who’ve never been to the county.
What’s the difference between your home and business moves?
A home move is planned around your completion or key dates, with careful protection for floors and stairs, furniture dismantled and rebuilt, and packing or storage added if you want. A business move is planned around your trading hours — often evenings or weekends — with IT and equipment handled and reconnected, crate hire, and a phased plan to keep downtime short.
Do you do the packing too?
Whichever you prefer. You can pack yourself and we’ll do the move, we can pack the whole home with proper materials and a labelled inventory, or we can pack just the fragile things and leave the rest to you. Unpacking at the other end is an option too.
Can you store my things if the dates don’t line up?
Yes. We offer clean, secure self-storage across the county, with a move-and-store option handled in one booking — we pack and load, keep your belongings in store, and deliver them when your new place is ready. It’s one team and one inventory throughout.
Do you do smaller jobs and single items?
Yes — a man & van with a driver suits a single room, a few big items or a quick collection anywhere in Suffolk. If a job turns out to be a full house move we’ll tell you straight and quote the right service instead.
How is a quote worked out?
We look at the size of the move, the access at both ends — stairs, lifts, parking, rural lanes, seafront restrictions — how much packing you want, and anything large or delicate. We’ll often do a short video or in-person survey first, then send a clear written quote. No prices are shown on the site because every move is different.
What are the access realities around the county?
Suffolk is a real mix, and we plan for it. Ipswich has the town one-way system and Waterfront parking; the market towns like Bury and Woodbridge have narrow historic streets; the coast at Southwold, Aldeburgh and Lowestoft brings seafront and permit parking; and the villages come with single-track lanes and tight farm entrances. We check access before the day so the crew isn’t caught out.
Which European countries do you move to from Suffolk?
France, Italy, Spain and Portugal. Each is planned as a route pair from Suffolk — down the A14 to the M11/M25 and the Channel (or via Harwich), then on to the destination region. We keep the customs paperwork straight and run the move as one journey.
How do you handle customs on a European move since Brexit?
A household move to the EU now needs an inventory and the right transit and customs documents. We prepare and file them for you and give honest, plain guidance on what’s needed. Timing at the border depends on the route and the paperwork rather than a fixed schedule, and your written quote sets out what to expect.
Are you insured?
Yes — goods-in-transit and public liability cover come as standard, and we’ll explain what the cover means before you book. For anything high-value or especially fragile we’ll talk through the right level of protection for your particular items.
What if my moving date changes?
Tell us as early as you can and we’ll do our best to move things around. Weekends and the end of the month fill up first, so a bit of notice gives us the most room to help. Anything about deposits or rescheduling sits in the booking terms.
