About us

A Suffolk firm that shows up and does it right

We’re a removals company rooted in Suffolk — the county town, the market towns, the coast and the racing country. We know the patch, and we move the homes and businesses on it with real care.

Suffolk Removals grew out of a simple idea: a moving firm should be reliable first. Too many moves are treated as haulage — get it on the van, get it off, job done. But a home or a business isn’t freight. It’s the things a family has carried for years, or the kit a business needs open again on Monday. We built the firm around handling all of it properly, and around being a name the county can count on.

Being a Suffolk business, we deal with what the county actually throws at a move: the Ipswich one-way system and Waterfront parking, the narrow Georgian streets of Bury and Woodbridge, the seafront and permit parking at Southwold, Aldeburgh and Lowestoft, the single road on and off the Felixstowe peninsula, and the single-track lanes out in the villages. That local knowledge is the difference between a move that runs and one that stalls.

What we believe

A proper county firm

We work the whole of Suffolk, not a slice of it — so we know the market-town access, the rural lanes and the coastal parking before we turn up.

Reliable, every time

We turn up when we say, do what we quoted, and keep you in the loop. Dependable beats flashy when it’s your home or business on the van.

Clear, written quotes

No prices flashed on the page, no vague verbal figures. You get a clear written quote for your move — and if a smaller job suits you, we’ll say so.

Careful hands

Most of what we move can’t be replaced. We protect floors, wrap the fragile things, and treat your belongings the way we’d want ours treated.

Local roots, European reach

Most of our work is close to home — a house across Ipswich, a family upsizing near Bury, a business move by the port. But Suffolk sends plenty of people abroad too, so we run a European arm to France, Italy, Spain and Portugal, planned as one journey from your door with the post-Brexit paperwork kept straight. Same team, same care, whether you’re moving across the county or across the Channel.

The Suffolk we cover

  • Ipswich (IP1–IP5) — The county town and its Waterfront and marina, the docks, and the streets up towards Christchurch Park.
  • Bury St Edmunds (IP32–IP33) — The abbey and market town in the west — Georgian streets, the Arc, and the villages out towards the A14.
  • Lowestoft (NR32–NR33) — Britain’s most easterly town on the coast — seafront terraces, the harbour and the roads inland along the A12.
  • Felixstowe (IP11) — The container port and the seaside town beside it — Victorian seafront houses and the peninsula off the A14.
  • Sudbury (CO10) — Gainsborough’s silk-weaving market town in the south, on the Stour, with the water meadows and CO-border villages.
  • Newmarket (CB8) — The home of horse racing in the far west — the Heath, the studs, and the trainers’ yards off the A14 and A11.

If your move touches a Suffolk address, it’s our home turf. Tell us about it and we’ll take it from there.
